Personality & Traits

General Overview An intense man with a very deliberative, stoic personality. Not prone to humour or strong emotional outburst, Thelan is a man who lives by a deep honour code; justice and loyalty are important to him. He is deeply opposed to authoritarian-types, especially those he sees as cruel and callous; despite the typical Mandalorian attitude to power and strength, Thelan is somewhat more protective of the weak.

Vehemently anti-Sith, and distrustful of Jedi in general due to what he sees as their broad similarities. This, again, is linked to his broad distaste for those with power and how they treat those without it.
Strengths & Weaknesses + Highly skilled in martial combat with a variety of weapons.
+ Very competent star pilot.
+ Strong honour code

- Trust issues; emotionally detached.
- Limited technical expertise.
- Deep distrust of authority figures
Ambitions Return the Vane family to a place of honor on Mandalore.
Hobbies & Interests Has been known to play the occasional game of Pazaak, and on very down days has the odd gambling habit. Otherwise he does not frequent many of the typical 'leisure' activities others might associate with.

Personal History The Vane family lineage dates back through generations. The name was deeply steeped in Mandalorian heritage and respect. Over time, however, fortunes change.

The Vane troubles began with his grandfather Edin Vane, who unsuccessfully challenged for the right to become Mandalore and was killed in ritual combat. Edin’s son Maxton sought to restore some of the family’s pride, but his ventures fell short and he looked to align with Imperial elements to elevate their holdings. However, Maxton and his younger son Alton both failed in a poorly-conceived military operation, with Alton losing his life in the process.

Maxton and Thelan (the elder son) sought vengeance on the Sith General responsible for the failed mission; however this also saw catastrophic failure. Maxton was executed by the Sith, Xantos Kor, and while Thelan escaped with his life, the brutal Sith had the man’s wife Perea arrested and tortured to death as retaliation for the attempt.

No longer welcome on Mandalore, broken at the loss of most of his family, and with little of the family’s fortune and respect left, Thelan fell into simple mercenary and bounty hunting as a means to make his way. Refusing to work with Imperials or Sith, he leaned towards Outer Rim work, primarily for Hutts and the occasional crime lord. However he rapidly grew a distaste for the amoral elements of the underworld and found himself a niche working slightly more reputable contracts for the elite classes of the Republic.

Tiring of rescuing coddled rich children and corporate suits, Thelan has drifted between bounties back in the rimward regions, occasionally even working with the Republic Army when the credits are good.
Known Rumours Thelan and the Vane name is not a popular one among the normal Mandalorian circles. Outcast, or exile, may be a strong word, but accurate for his circumstance.
