Physical Description | Miya’s appearance reflects the balance and precision of her Jedi training. Though reserved, her presence is one of quiet authority, her movements always deliberate and precise. As an olive-green-skinned Twi’lek, her most striking features are her elegant lekku, adorned with subtle markings that hint at a clan heritage that she has long since forgotten. She carries herself with a calm yet commanding presence, her bright, perceptive eyes often assessing her surroundings with the sharp focus of a Sentinel. She’s most consistently seen in utilitarian attire, built for mobility and survival in harsh environments. She often has a metallic headpiece across her forehead, harking back to a tradition she no longer follows. Her lightsaber, with its orange blade, never leaves her side. A beacon of hope as she navigates the physical and shadowy threats of the galaxy. |

Personality & Traits
General Overview | Miya walks the line between instinct and discipline, pragmatism and tradition. Once reckless and impulsive, she has tempered her agility and sharp mind with patience, making her an astute investigator and skilled combatant. While she values diplomacy, she is unafraid to take decisive action when needed, believing in efficiency over rigid idealism. Beneath her measured exterior, she still finds joy in movement and combat, though she remains wary of the arrogance that once led her astray. Loyal and protective, Miya balances the Jedi Code with a Sentinel’s practicality, ever mindful that restraint must not become hesitation, and that past mistakes should guide, not define, her path.
Strengths & Weaknesses | Perceptive - Miya has a sharp eye for detail and an innate intuition for reading people and situations. Dexterous - She has always been quick on her feet, and her years in the Academy in Coruscant have only bolstered those skills. Seeing her move through battle or even a dance one cannot deny the grace and finesse with which she navigates this world. Overly Calculated - Miya carefully weighs every decision, but this can sometimes make her seem cold or hesitant to take necessary risks. Lingering impulsiveness - One downside to her strong instincts is her willingness to act on it. Though much curtailed by events in the past, the innate drive is still there, in need of constain reining in. |

Ambitions | Evwr since learning of her origins, Miya harbors a personal desire to dismantle slavery operations across the Outer Rim. She wants to use her position as a Jedi to systematically bring justice to slavers and free those trapped in oppression.
Hobbies & Interests | Miya has a deep appreciation for history and exploration, which she channels into her hobbies. She enjoys studying ancient artifacts, deciphering inscriptions, and solving intricate puzzles, seeing them as a way to sharpen her mind and uncover lost knowledge. This fascination extends to cartography, where she meticulously creates detailed maps and diagrams of ruins, hidden pathways, and forgotten relic sites. Whether tracing old diagrams or sketching the layout of a crumbling temple, Miya finds comfort in bringing order to the unknown, preserving what others have left behind. |
Personal History | If pressed Miya will tell you that the only thing she remembers of her time before the Jedi academy is an oppressive humid heat. She knows she was born to two enslaved Twi’lek on the outer rim jungle world of Tularis V, and that she was purchased by a Jedi Knight that just happened to be in the small trader outpost she was in when she showed balance beyond her years. Playing around with other kids in the marketplace she scampered over impossibly narrow beams to get away from her pursuers, giggling all the way. The Jedi Knight purchased her away from the slaver, who grossly overcharged for the privilege. Her parents, though heartbroken, willingly let her go in the hopes that the Jedi Academy would give her the best chance at a somewhat normal and happy life. At the Jedi Temple on Coruscant, Miya's Force sensitivity proved stronger than her rescuer had initially determined. While she definitely lacked the raw power of some of her peers, Miya excelled at quiet observation, connecting patterns, and solving puzzles. Her instructors noted how she would often uncover truths others overlooked, sensing deception in her fellow Padawans or in extended exchanges predicting an opponent's strike in practice combat. Aside from the mental acquity she also displayed an affinity for agility and balance. Whether traversing narrow beams or navigating uneven terrain, her movements reflected an almost preternatural control and grace. She soon became known among her peers as a showoff because of incorporating more extravagant flourishes in both fighting and athletics. At the age of 13, Miya was granted the honor of her Gathering trial, a pivotal step toward constructing her lightsaber and advancing in her Jedi training. Her first attempt, on a frigid mountain world, ended in failure as her obsessive drive to prove herself led to reckless actions, forcing her Masters to intervene and pull her back from danger. Through reflection and guidance, Miya learned that finding a kyber crystal was not about force or ambition but a patient alignment with the Force itself. A year later, during a second trial on the volcanic world of Morvis III, Miya resisted her peers' haste and instead meditated amidst the searing heat and chaos of the crater. When the Force finally called to her, it led her to an orange crystal hidden behind a lavafall—seemingly unreachable. Demonstrating her growth, Miya calmly used the Force to draw the crystal through the molten barrier. Though the crystal cracked upon cooling, Miya accepted it as a reflection of her journey and a symbol of imperfection, resolve, and growth, solidifying her readiness to become a Padawan. Having learnt to accept the universe as it was, Miya used her now split in two crystals to create a companion dagger to her orange saber, used mostly for quick offensive jabs in close quarter combat situations, but also can be used to parry in a pinch. An element of surprise she keeps in her off-hand, always ready to strike. Nowadays she sees the additional dagger as the first sign of her path as a Sentinel—balancing aggression and diplomacy, tradition and pragmatism. Yet, as a Padawan, that balance sometimes still eluded her. At sixteen, on a training mission to capture a rogue mercenary, Miya relied on her speed and precision to track them down. Confident in her skill, she lunged the moment she laid eyes on her target. She never saw the stun-field activate. Pain shot through her as the energy seized her limbs, locking her in place, breath hitching as she struggled to break free. Helpless, she could only watch as Amessa Vyks, the Master that had accompanied her on this field mission, faced the mercenary alone. They were evenly matched, but Miya saw the moment it shifted—the split-second hesitation, the glance toward her fallen Padawan. Amessa’s next strike didn’t disable, it killed. The mission was complete. The cost was a life. Shame clung to Miya as she recovered. Her recklessness had endangered not just herself, but her Master. Amessa did not reprimand her—but she did not let her forget. The Togruta blindfolded her in the training ring, forcing her to spar for weeks without sight. Listen. Anticipate. Trust the Force. Miya learned to wait—not for victory, not for speed, but for the moment when the blade must strike, and no sooner. Her training at the Academy, under several different Jedi Masters, continued until she was almost twenty. This was when she was apprenticed by Master Drevoe, a grizzled Zabrak Sentinel from Iridonia known for his no-nonsense approach to training and discipline. He saw in her the potential to become a great Sentinel herself. Even though his reputation had prepared Miya, she still struggled with the rigorous routines implemented by Drevoe. Yet the lessons of the past kept her focused and grounded. For four years Devroe and Miya were an inseparable duo, sent on missions and errands taking them across the known sectors of space. Retrieving Sith artefacts, apprehending known spies and sympathisers of the Empire, and offering help to distant colonies where they saw opportunity. When she was twenty-four they were sent to Dovak Prime, where an abandoned Jedi outpost was rumoured to be haunted by a wraith. Fearing Sith interference Devroe and Miya made their way to the distant world, nearly completely abandoned after the Jedi-Sith war. The ruins of the Jedi outpost on Dovak Prime were silent, save for the howl of the wind through shattered stone. Miya had learned to move stealthily through the wreckage. She soon uncovered the truth behind the rumours of a malicious wraith. A Jedi war droid from the Jedi-Sith War, its core corrupted by an ancient Sith holocron. The machine struck from the shadows, its red photoreceptors glowing like embers in the dark. Where once she might have lunged recklessly into combat, Miya instead retreated, observed, studied its patterns, and devised a plan. Luring the droid deeper into the crumbling structure, she used the ruins to her advantage, outmaneuvering it until a well-placed strike sent a weakened support beam crashing down. As the dust settled, Miya found the holocron lodged within the droid’s core, its influence pulsing through the Force. Destroying it risked triggering an explosion that could kill her and perhaps any smugglers or locals too curious for their own good.. Taking it intact meant exposing herself to its corruption, risking being pulled to the darkside. Centering herself, she channeled the Force to seal the holocron within a protective barrier, cutting off its influence without succumbing to the temptation of its power. When she returned, Master Drevoe was waiting. He had watched the trial unfold, witnessing her restraint, intelligence, and mastery of both blade and mind. Where once she had acted on impulse, she now stood in control. With quiet approval, he led her back to the Jedi Council, where she was promoted, not just for her skill, but for proving she had truly embraced what it meant to be a Jedi Knight. Following her knighthood Miya was assigned as a Jedi Liaison to the newly created Republic presence on Hoth. After a short stop for resupplies she took her newly provided spaceship to the ice planet in order to provide support for Frostpoint outpost. |
